Scanning

For a long time now I’ve been tinkering with a virus scanning thing for the VDot site. I’ve done maybe 3 or 4 rewrites but recently I’ve stuck on a mostly final bit of code for the system. It is in a ‘beta’ like state but I’ve opened it up for some limited public testing with the guys from work… It is worth a look, and can be found here. Suggestions and feedback is appreciated..

Currently it is tied into about 10 scanners all running on a Linux system, it is not production quality as there are some outstanding issues that need addressing, also need to finalise the licenses for a couple of the scanners as they are running on demo licenses atm. It is irritating with some of the products that the Linux versions are only available on ‘Business/Corporate’ style licenses. But with Linux being more and more mainstream they should be becoming more popular. However notable mentions should go to ClamAV, BitDefender, Dr. Web, ArcaVir, F-PROT and H+BEDV AntiVir all are either very cheap or free.
