First Time in a While

December 30, 2006 – 4:29 am

First time for a long time I’ve had a virus via email manage to hit my mail box before the scanner got a signature update. In the mail config on sugargrove we have Sophos Sweep running on there and it missed copies of a worm that poses are a New Years Greeting in the form of a ‘postcard’.

What is interesting is that they guys at F-Secure blogged about it at 07:49am on the 29th and well Sophos managed to get their sigs out at 03:04am on the 30th. Makes you think, luckily DSPAM caught it as SPAM so I think no one with an account on the VDot domain actually got a copy into their mail box. The worm is called W32/Dref-V by Sophos and Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Tibs.jy by F-Secure.
