Ok…

February 13, 2007 – 8:45 pm

So today I moved the box for secondary mail relay, webmail and DNS for the VDot domain. This has been on the cards for a while, the old box was a little money drain to be honest.

The plan it was on was had a 10Gb per month usage plan with traffic over that charged at like 5 quid per meg. Which given that currently the box is averaging over 15Gb per month and when it was DoS’d at the beginning of last year it cost me over 1300 quid in bandwidth costs because the hosting company wouldn’t wave the cost.

So everything has been moved and it shall be cancelled tonight. The new hosting box is in Germany with a company called Hetzner Online, chosen specifically for the unmetered bandwidth and that they do servers with Debian installed and supported.
