The balls of some people

I put on craiglist a couple of weeks ago an ad for a watch I’ve been thinking of selling. Didn’t think I’d have any ‘real’ interest. Just thought I’d try to see if craiglist is really the place to put classified ads like some of the hype says it is.

So I get 8 emails about the item, 7 are from yahoo accounts one from gmail. Now people that know me know that I’m paranoid and I know my stuff when it comes to the nasty side of IT. So I took the emails, first thing they where all pretty similar, classic 411 scam style, I’m someone foreign I want to you to send the watch overseas, I’ll pay with a wire transfer or certified check all the classic traits of a scam.

What is more funny, all the yahoo emails came from hosts in Nigeria, Lagos in fact. Hell 4 of them all claiming from different people came from the same Internet Cafe in Lagos, Nigeria.. I mean come on, do they think they are dealing with an idiot..

Now one of the emails came from gmail, which is a pain because you cannot analyse the email to get details of the sender IP address, which is seriously important to find and spot possible scammers.
